While there are already a bundle of movies that had the Audi R8 as the halo car – remember Avengers and the Iron Man solo movies – the German supercar is now ready for yet another appearance.
The Ingolstadt-based automaker would have an arguing point here – since they switched to a new generation the roster needs to be fulfilled once more and the movie appearances from their point of view start from scratch all over again. Now, this feature in all earnest is not even in the metal – as the 2017 Audi R8 is getting a digital role in the Final Fantasy XV flick, which is a CGI movie. If you don’t know too much about the Final Fantasy universe (actually that’s plural) then we’re not going to be able to help you on that – the sheer amount of information about this saga may build up for a lecture of a lifetime. What you should know is there was years ago another CGI Final Fantasy movie – pretty entertaining – which set the benchmark for this kind of digital work for the years to come.
Now, Square Enix has nuked the entire gaming industry by presenting the trailer for their first CGI movie in a pretty long time. This is not that out of the ordinary though – there are countless of movie adaptations of the gaming genre. We can tell you this year alone it’s going to come out Assassin’s Creed and World of Warcraft – and both have franchise dreams if everything goes as planned. And by the way, in the Final Fantasy universe the 2017 R8 V10 featured in the trailer has had all of its carbon fiber bits and pieces replaced by engraved metal.
