The brand new 2017 Ford GT is showing us its engine start and some revving in a brand new video taken at the 2015 NAIAS, in Detroit.
The North American International Auto Show (NAIAS), in Detroit, has recently seen the world debut of the production version Ford GT, in its new generation. Despite being officially unveiled, the carmaker has remained conservative on offering performance details on the supercar, so whenever it is spotted starting its engine and slightly revving it, it becomes news, at the moment at least. You can check out the sound of the mid-mounted turbo V6 below, right after the jump.
As you probably already know by now, the new generation of the Ford GT is quite far apart from reaching the production line. The model in question should be hitting the assembly line by the end of 2016, which is making it go on sale as a 2017 model year. The new American supercar has an evolutionary design, revised lighting units and graphics and several other items which will put some space between it and the model currently on the streets.
As far as the engine goes, Ford says that the new GT generation is packing a twin turbo V6 unit, which is producing a total output of 600 HP (447 kW), sent to the rear wheels through the 7-speed dual clutch transmission. Sadly this is all we have got on the 2017 Ford GT for the moment but you can check it out in the video and the photo gallery posted below.
