The world of performance SUVs is never going to be the same after the arrival of the Lamborghini Urus, but that doesn’t mean everybody is going to go for the Italian super-SUV.
There are lots of other opportunities, including in the arguably much more accessible compact segment – where the Porsche Macan Turbo arguably rules unchallenged. The Jaguar F-Pace SVR is making sure that’s about to end, once it itself manages to resolve all the pre-production tests, that is. Both the Porsche Macan Turbo and the Alfa Romeo Stelvio Quadrifoglio should have something to fear from the upcoming arrival of the high-performance F-Pace that’s now testing in its full production attire on the grueling Nurburgring Nordschleife.
Interestingly enough, on top of the whirlwind camouflage there are extra layers of protection – the thing is they manage to grab our attention and point out just about every place where the F-Pace SVR is going to sport massive air vents. On the other hand the Tata Motors-owned brand didn’t even think to wrap up the new exhaust system with four terminations and delivering a throaty voice to the spectacular supercharged 5.0-liter V8 engine. It’s still unknown if the F-Pace SVR is going to be treated to the full 575 HP and 516 pound-feet (700 Nm) of torque available from the latest builds of the mill inside other JLR vehicles.
