You can try almost for free the new 2018 Porsche 911 GT2 RS with the demo for the Forza Motorsport 7, and maybe have a try when the game is released on the Nurburgring Nordschleife.
That way you could try and compare your time with the one allegedly posted by the real machine – because there’s a recent report that states the hardcore Porsche is gunning for a sub 7-minute time for a shot at the hall of fame. It would have the credentials to do so – it’s the most hardcore, feisty 911 Porsche has ever produced, packing in the back a 3.8-liter biturbo flat-six good for 690 horsepower (514 kilowatts), so it naturally sprints to 60 miles per hour (96 kilometers per hour) in just 2.7 seconds. Top speed – well over what the Nurburgring can cope with – at more than 200 mph (321 kph).
Since we’re dealing with a German machine and there’s an ongoing craze about Nurburgring times, of course everyone is asking if the Porsche team will try and secure a top time. Now a report suggests this is entirely possible, though we do need to take this with a pinch of salt and wait for official confirmation. The calculations were made with snapshots – one taken at turn 13 (the first turn for the Nordschliefe), and the second when the car passed through that point once more – the timestamps indicated a sub 7-minute time. And we can also relate to Mark Webber’s hint that while inside the GT2 RS he reached 209 mph (336 kph)…
