The Japanese automaker just presented the first image with its entry-level supermini, the 2018 Swift Sport and already the rumor mill has caught wind of further details via a leaked brochure.
The brochure leaked online features the exact same yellow car featured in the official Suzuki release, though this time around we also catch a glimpse of the back – with dual exhaust tips and new taillight design. In Japan the Swift Sport will be using six exterior colors and feature red accents in the cockpit, with the budget sporty model also fitted nicely with body-hugging front seats. Among other changes we also noticed the new instrument cluster design – red rev counter and a gray speedometer – and purists will love the shorter gear lever for the manual transmission, while all others will appreciate the addition of red accents on the dashboard and center console.
The brochure says nothing about the engine, but the rumor mill knows the old 1.6-liter naturally aspirated mill will be retired in favor of a new, turbocharged 1.4-liter from the Vitara S that’s capable of 140 hp, with the four-cylinder BoosterJet also able to post 162 pound-feet (220 Newton-meters) of torque. Reports are also speaking of the addition of a six-speed automatic transmission as an option.
