The all-new 2019 model year generation of the Ram 1500 “workhorse” is just fresh out of the oven at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit, and already the American manufacturer has cooked the first limited version.
We’re dealing with something you may never again call a “workhorse” – since it’s the top of the line Ram 1500 Laramie Longhorn Edition, which promises to haul anything (as long as it\’s something luxurious) in utter comfort. “The all-new 2019 Ram 1500 Laramie Longhorn is a no-compromise luxury truck that delivers what buyers want most: strength, durability, technology, and efficiency,” comments Mike Manley, Head of Ram Brand. You’ll be able to spot the new Laramie Longhorn from the get go, with the 1500 now featuring a bespoke grille and unique wheels. LED lights front and back are also standard, along with the RV Match Walnut Brown paint in a regular or two-tone finish.
More importantly, there are also major changes inside. The dashboard, door panels, and armrests are covered in 100 percent full-grain leather, while the seat covers, center console, instrument panel, and door panel inserts feature alligator embossed leather skin. There’s Longhorn branding – done in the old-school hot-iron way – is used on the glove box door, along with other areas. Then there’s the brushed nickel, the satin chrome accents along with real barn-wood accents (that’s wood from old barns, reconditioned) – just to deliver the traditional country luxury feel. Owners have a few colors to pick from – as long as it’s something brown: Mountain Brown/Light Mountain Brown, Cattle Tan with Black, and there are even full heat and ventilation seats, both front and back.
