According to local police reports, the accident started when the driver of one of the Ferraris wanted to change lanes and hit the median barrier, while the other cars collided when trying to avoid hitting his car. The Japanese police didn’t comment on the total amount of damage, but did say that some of the supercars were beyond repair.
Even if this was one of the most expensive supercar crashes ever, no one was seriously injured. The Yamaguchi prefecture police said that 10 people were treated by doctors for bruises and cuts and a total of 14 cars were involved in the crash. Rumors say that the total amount of damage may be around 1 million USD and it seems that the luxury cars were all in one place because they were driven by a group of automobile enthusiasts on their way to Hiroshima.
The wreck included a number of Ferrari 355s, Ferrari F430s, Ferrari F360, Ferrari F512, Lamborghini Diablo, three Mercedes models, a Nissan Skyline and a Toyota Prius. You can watch the video with the aftermath below.
