The Italian in-house tuner has officially presented its new special series Tricolore package for the 595, available in the United Kingdom.
The pack can be had on the models wearing the red, white, or blue exterior shade and comes with side stripes, black mirror caps, and red brake calipers. To complete the stylistic changes to the exterior appearance of the Fiat 500-derived model the automaker also offers 17-inch alloy wheels with a titanium finish. Inside the cabin the modifications have been kept to a minimum, with a bespoke steering wheel that has been adorned with Tricolore detailing. It also has a standard air conditioning, a six-speaker audio system, and a Blue&Me connectivity system. Just like the regular model, the 595 Tricolore will feature under the hood a turbocharged 1.4-liter four-cylinder engine that packs 140 horsepower and 152 pound-feet of torque. It’s mated to a five-speed manual gearbox and the little fiery hatch will sprint to 62 mph (100 km/h) in just 8.1 seconds.
The production has been capped to 300 units to insure exclusivity and the Tricolore package go for £15,150 OTR. Promotion is key to everything, including teasers – Abarth has released a new promotional video called “The Real Italian Job.” It’s centered around three Abarth 595s used as getaway vehicles during a heist – the idea is well known, but more importantly the footage also houses a teaser image of the upcoming Abarth 124 Spider. This one should also come sporting the turbocharged 1.4-liter engine, though rumors also call for the 4C’s turbocharged 1.75-liter engine.
