Acura has officially presented to the public in a premiere the prototype version of the MDX, during the 2013 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in Detroit.
The Acura MDX is offering a first preview into a future production model which should go on sale by the end of 2013. The MDX prototype has an evolutionary design with LED headlights, roof rails, tailgate mounted spoiler, aluminum accents, large shield grille and other features which are expected to be adopted by the final production version of the model.
The most interesting part of the Acura MDX prototype is found under its hood, where the 3.5 liter V6 engine is resting. The car manufacturer didn’t provide any specification details on the unit used in the prototype, but the final production version of the model will probably get 310 HP (231 kW) and 368 Nm of torque (272 lb-ft) of torque from a similar engine. Unfortunately we don’t have any more details on the Acura MDX and the carmaker will probably announce more on the final production version close to its launch, which will be by the end of 2013.
