The famous Hollywood star Robert Downey Jr. has recently driven the Acura NSX Roadster, during the premiere of the Avengers, after doing the same thing in the movie where the Japanese vehicle had a role too. Robert Downey Jr., who played Iron Man, wasn’t the only actor to drive the Acura NSX Roadster in the movie, and Jeremy Renner, who played Hawkeye, Scarlett Johansson, the Black Widow and other actors have also driven the NSX Roadster.
“Thousands watched with amazement as actor Robert Downey Jr. (“Tony Stak”) drove onto the red carpet in a custom Acura-created sports car at the Marvel’s The Avengers Hollywood premiere on Wednesday, April 11, at the El Capitan Theatre. The premiere, co-sponsored by Acura, featured militarized S.H.I.E.L.D.-Edition Acura MDX and TL models that were used in the film to escort the actors on Hollywood Blvd”, as the automaker is saying in its official press release.
As a small reminder, the Acura NSX is powered by a 3.5 liter V6 engine, sending its power to one of the axles, while a pair of electric motors will “move” the other axle. The model has a four-wheel drive and a hybrid layout, with a total output of 400 horsepower. The final production version of the new NSX, with the Acura and Honda badges on it, is expected to debut in 2013.
