The well known German tuner has delivered the first teaser footage of the upcoming B7 – their own take on the automaker’s 7 Series flagship.
We naturally know that under that camo sits the BMW 7 Series, and as is the rule with Alpina modifications the design revisions are subtle and cohesive – we’ll be treated to a bespoke front bumper and a trunk-mounted spoiler. Also making the point of a serious tuner are the sporty alloy wheels and the modified dual exhaust system. We have little clue about the interior of the German flagship but we can again expect the crop of regular Alpina touches: revised atmosphere, a rebranded steering wheel as well as a unique instrument cluster. The specialist company gave no reference to the timframe of the new generation’s B7 introduction though it did say it was “coming soon.” And this makes us wonder if the Geneva Motor Show taking place in March is the appropriate “soon”.
By the way, the soon to be extinct B7 used the 4.4-liter TwinPower Turbo V8 engine in a state of tune that delivered 540 horsepower and 538 pound-feet of torque – it was mated to the well known eight-speed automatic transmission for a zero to 60 mph (96 km/h) sprint in 4.3 seconds and a top speed of up to 194 mph.
