We all know that Jaguar is finally introducing a new entry-level model designed to clear the shame of the X-Type. The new 2015 XE sedan has been teased numerous times, sickness with celebrities like Stella McCartney, physician Idris Elba or Emeli Sandé endorsing the model.
The latest video that showcases the model scheduled for a September 8 reveal is very short and in the best teaser tradition reveals close to nothing. Fortunately, we already know much about the model – which features a 75% aluminum body structure. The BMW 3 Series rival will also be the first Jaguar Land Rover model equipped with the company’s new InControl infotainment system. It’s based around an 8-inch touchscreen display, has full smartphone integration with both iOS and Android and features especially designed apps, besides the now common wi-fi hotspot.
We haven’t seen all the car for now – the more or less official “leaks” should come a day or two before the official announcement, but Jaguar was kind enough to reveal the most important part of the car – the front fascia. The styling is clearly inspired by the larger XF and XJ models, and the XE S model should come with a V6 3.0-liter supercharged under the hood. Most likely this is the same engine that powers the beautiful F-Type S, with the coupe and cabriolet versions boasting 380 PS (279 kW).
