After being officially presented to the public at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show, the Audi A3 is once again highlighted, this time with the help of a promotional video.
The new generation of the Audi A3 is finally here and the model is actually the first vehicle to use the new Modular Transverse Matrix (MQB) platform, which will also underpin more future models, like the new generation of the Volkswagen Golf. Audi says that the three-door version will be the first one to make its appearance, and the model will be 80 kg (176 lbs) lighter than the version it will be replacing, with a total length of 4.237 mm, 1.777 mm in width and 1,421 mm in height.
The 2013 Audi A3 will be available with only three engines when it will be launched, the 1.4 liter TFSI, which will be offered as an entry-level, with its 121 horsepower and 200 Nm of torque (148 lb-ft), the 1.8 liter TFSI with its 177 HP and 250 Nm of torque (184 lb-ft) and the top of the line 2.0 liter TDI diesel, generating 148 horsepower and 320 Nm of torque (236 lb-ft) and offering a fuel economy of 3.8 l/100 km (61.90 mpg US). The starting price of the new Audi A3 will be set at 21,600 euros when it will hit the German dealerships this spring.
