Audi has released a new promotional video with the recently unveiled R8 LMX, the company’s first production model to get the laser headlight technology.
Audi has been in a battle with BMW for launching the first production model with the laser headlight technology and while the Stuttgart based company has released an old model with the new headlights, the Bavarian car manufacturer has taken a step forward and introduced a brand new vehicle with the same technology, the i8. The clip is also showing Tom Kristensen with the Ara Blue supercar which has received carbon fiber flics, a fixed rear wing, the gloss black tailpipes, the 19-inch alloy wheels and, of course, the laser headlights. The cabin is equipped with Nappa leather seats, Alcantara headliner, illuminated door sill plates, matte carbon fiber trim and more. Power is being provided by the 5.2 liter V10 engine with 570 HP (419 kW) and 540 Nm (398 lb-ft) of torque. The unit is connected to a 7-speed S tronic transmission, sending power to the Quattro all-wheel drive system. The R8 LMX will be produced in 99 units and pricing will be set at 210,000 EUR.
