Audi has officially pulled the wraps off the brand new S1 and S1 Sportback, ahead of the models’ official debut scheduled for the 2014 Geneva Motor Show, next month.
The Audi S1 and S1 Sportback have been already spied these past few weeks and after learning some pretty interesting things about them, time has come to officially meet them, for the very first time. The top of the line versions of the Audi A1 are available in three- and five-door body style versions and they have been fitted with a more aggressive body kit, which is highlighted by the new front and rear bumpers, by the updated side sills, by the rear wing and the quad exhaust system.
Audi says that both vehicles are riding on 17-inch alloy wheels, which have been wrapped in 215/40 tires but, as an option, larger 18-inch rims, with 225/35 tires, can also be ordered. The wheels will be covering the 310 mm front disc brakes, with their red calipers and with the S1 logo on them. The two models are also getting the xenon plus headlights and the LED taillights, to complete the look. The cabin is finished in black and dark grey and it’s getting sport seats or optional S sport seats, brushed stainless steel pedals and others.
The brand Audi S1 and S1 Sportback are both taking their power from the 2.0 liter TFSI four-cylinder engine. The unit is producing a total output of 231 HP (170 kW) and it has a peak torque of 370 Nm (273 lb-ft) of torque. The S1 can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 5.8 seconds and the S1 Sportback will be 0.1 seconds slower. Top speed will stand at 250 km/h (155 mph) in both vehicles. The 2015 Audi S1 will be priced from 29,950 euros and the 2015 S1 Sportback from 30,800 euros. The two models will go on sale in the second half of this year.
