An Aurora Blue example of a McLaren P1 has been recently spotted around while cruising the streets of Malibu, at night, as it managed to attract a lot of attention.
There may be almost two years since the first production version of the McLaren P1 has been shown at the Geneva Motor Show, back in 2013, but that doesn’t mean that interest has went down with it because things are actually the opposite because almost every appearance of such a hybrid supercar is still managing to attract a lot of attention. The newest video with such a model is showing an Aurora Blue finished one cruising the streets of Malibu, at night, and it was apparently recently delivered to the United States.
The McLaren P1 is currently in production, in Woking, Surrey, England, since 2013, and it will be put together in only 375 units, all of them offered in a two-door coupe body style, with a rear mid-engine and a rear-wheel drive layout. Power to all P1s is being provided by the same 3.8 liter twin turbo V8 petrol burner, rated at 727 HP (542 kW) and 719 Nm (531 lb-ft) of torque, backed up by an electric motor with 176 HP (131 kW) and 260 Nm (192 lb-ft) of torque. The total output produced stands at 903 HP and 978 Nm of torque, sent to the rear wheels through a seven-speed dual clutch transmission. The electric motor is taking its juice from the 324 cell lithium ion high density battery pack, located behind the cabin.
