One of the most impressive vehicles to come out from the BMW factory, the i8, has been recently driven by Autocar.
BMW’s first hybrid sports car, the i8, is the subject to a new review which has been signed by Autocar’s Steve Sutcliffe, who is trying to answer some questions asked on it. The BMW i8 is powered by a hybrid synchronous motor, which is rated at 131 HP (86 kW) and 250 Nm (184 lb-ft) of torque. The model can be had with the range extender too, a 1.5 liter I3 turbo petrol burner, adding 228 HP (170 kW) and 320 Nm (236 lb-ft). The total output produced by the powertrain stands at 357 HP (266 kW) and 570 Nm (420 lb-ft) of torque. The i8 is currently assembled in Leipzig, Germany, and it has been officially unveiled during the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show.
