The guys at Autocar have recently went for a spin in the brand new Mercedes-Benz A45 AMG and what came out can be seen in the video posted below.
The Mercedes-Benz A45 AMG is probably one of the most important AMG cars ever produced by the German based company because the AMG brand is now getting closer to another niche of customers who can’t own an SLS AMG or a C63 AMG and, during the process, Mercedes-Benz has also managed to produce the world’s most powerful hot hatch. And let’s not forget its premium feel, which lets the competition at Audi and BMW behind.
As a quick reminder, the Mercedes-Benz A45 AMG is powered by a 2.0 liter four-cylinder turbocharged engine, which is good for 360 HP (256 kW) at 6,000 rpm and it has a peak torque of 450 Nm (332 kW), between 2,250 and 5,000 rpm. Power is being sent to the 4MATIC all-wheel drive system through an AMG Speed Shift DCT seven-speed sports transmission. The 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) sprint takes 4.6 seconds and top speed has been electronically limited to 250 km/h (155 mph). The A45 AMG has been unveiled back in March 2013, during the Geneva Motor Show.
