The range-topping 542bhp Jaguar XKR-S is significantly faster, more poised and more aggressively styled than the standard XKR. Jamie Corstorphine from the British magazine Autocar takes us around the brand new Jag and discusses the highlights of the British sports car.
Extracting additional performance from the XKR to create the XKR-S was largely an exercise in calibration rather than swapping hardware. The familiar supercharged 5.0-liter V-8 now makes 550 hp and 502 lb-ft of torque, up 40 hp and 41 lb-ft from the XKR’s output.
Over the XKR, it’s got a new version of the adaptive dynamics suspension, a new active sports exhaust, a new spoiler, bigger brakes and will hit 62mph from zero in just 4.2 seconds.
