The British automotive journalists from Autocar have recently had a go in one of the hottest hypercars money can buy these days, the McLaren P1.
We have already seen the McLaren P1 in several automotive events around the globe and also in action on the track and in the real world too, but it seems that its every appearance is still keeping our headlines. The video posted below represents Autocar’s testing of the hybrid supercar, which will be produced in just 375 units and each will set you back for 866,000 GBP. Even if you can afford it, all units have been already sold out.
The McLaren P1 has a 3.8 liter twin turbo V8 engine under its hood, backed up by an electric motor. The internal combustion engine is good for 727 HP (542 kW) and 719 Nm (531 lb-ft) of torque, while the electric unit is providing an extra 176 HP (131 kW) and 260 Nm (192 lb-ft) of torque. The total output produced stands at 900 HP and 978 Nm of torque, which is enough to allow it to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.8 seconds and to reach an electronically limited top speed of 250 km/h (217 mph).
