The astonishing Regera supercar is now available with a newly introduced Autoskin feature, according to Christian von Koenigsegg’s exotic supercar manufacturer.
In case you forgot, the hypercar employs an innovative direct drive transmission invented by the company owner that links the 5.0-liter V8 petrol engine to the electric motors. The assembly used by the Swedish producer employs a hybrid system that delivers a combined power of 1,500 HP (1,103 kW), which is enough to sprint to 62 mph (100 km/h) in just 2.8 seconds while the 400 km/h (0-250 mph) mark can be hit in no more than 20 seconds. Being a hypercar of the XXI century also means the Regera comes with amenities such as Apple CarPlay, 3G and WiFi and a recording camera inside the cabin.
Now the automaker has also introduced the Autoskin features – billed as a “robotized door system” – that enables the user to remotely control some of the body panels of the Regera. The system is “truly turning the Regera into a transformer” and uses inbuilt hydraulics to open every door of the supercar, the boot lid and the bonnet. No pricing or availability information has been disclosed, which also comes with another innovative feature – “the world’s first fully foldable, active, top-mounted rear wing”.
