Ex-Top Gear Stig Ben Collins has proved its driving skills once again taking a fast lap around the track during the 2015 Goodwood Festival of Speed.
The 2015 Goodwood Festival of Speed has seen the debut of a lot of new vehicles but the most awaited part of the show was, obviously, the fast driving of powerful cars. Ben Collins, the professional racing driver and ex-Top Gear Stig, was behind the wheel of a Shelby Mustang GT350R. The clip posted below is showing him taking a fast lap in the American muscle car and the attempt wasn’t easy at all but all ended well.
The Shelby GT350R Mustang is carrying a 5.2 liter naturally aspirated V8 engine under its hood. The unit is capable of putting down a total of 526 HP (392 kW) and a peak torque of 580 Nm (429 lb-ft). Sadly, Ford is cheap on providing performance figures on the impressive muscle car but we do know that this has a lot of aerodynamic improvements, some chassis engineering and a lower weight than the GT350 Mustang. All of these are translated into a faster vehicle and the new body kit, with the more aerodynamic diffuser, the front splitter, the updated fender vents and the hood vent are also helping it. The Shelby GT350R Mustang has been officially presented to the public at the 2015 NAIAS, in Detroit, back in January.
