The German based automaker BMW has recently released a new promotional video which is celebrating the classic 8-Series.
BMW is already planning to develop a brand new 8-Series, which will be based on the Gran Lusso Coupe Concept, but until the new model will hit the market, the company has released a video with the classic one, which will remind us how good things were back in the days when the vehicle was in production. The BMW 8-Series has been produced between 1989 and 1999 and a total of 31,062 units have been built. The model has been assembled in Germany and it came as a Grand Tourer, with a 2-door coupe body style.
The classic BMW 8-Series was powered by a 4.0L V8, by a 4.4L V8, a 5.0L V12, a 5.6L V12 and a 5.4L V12, which could have been mated to a four-speed automatic, a five-speed automatic or a six-speed manual transmission. The model in question was 4,780 mm long, 1,854 mm wide and 1,341 mm tall, with a 2,685 mm long wheelbase. The BMW 8-Series has made its public debut back in 1989, in September, during the Frankfurt Motor Show and over 1.5 billion Deoutschemark have been spent on its development.
