A brand new video with the BMW i8 getting detailed has been recently released by the German based automaker.
BMW has released a new video with the i8 in which some of its features are being explained, so if you wanted to add such a vehicle to your garage, or you’re simply interested in finding out more about it, all you have to do is scroll down and click the play button. The BMW i8 is powered by a three-cylinder 1.5 liter TwinPower Turbo engine, which is good for 231 HP (170 kW) and 320 Nm (236 lb-ft) of torque.
This is backed up by an electric motor, which is providing an extra 131 HP (96 kW), mated to a 2-stage automatic transmission, sending power to the FWD. BMW says that the total output of the i8 is 362 HP (266 kW) and 570 Nm (420 lb-ft) of torque, which is enough for a 0 to 100 km/h sprint made in just 4.4 seconds. The average fuel consumption of the BMW i8 stands at 2.5 liters every 100 km (113 mpg UK / 94 mpg US). The total driving range of the vehicle stands at just over 500 km (310 miles) and it can be driven on electric power alone for 35 km (22 miles).
While a few years ago analysts predicted big, chunky full size pick-ups would die even in the US, now they are setting again record sales, so might they have been wrong also about the mid-size US pickup segment?
