The brand new BMW i3 has been recently spied while being tested on the open roads, getting ready for its launch later on this year.
The first ever BMW model to go on sale in the brand new “i” range will be the i3 and the German based automaker is already working for quite some time on the model, making sure that everything works just like it should, before handing the final production version to dealerships. The newest video with the BMW i3 prototype is posted right below and it’s showing the model being tested on public roads.
The BMW i3 will go on sale later on this year, following its official unveil, and rumors are saying that its future customers will be able to order it in July. The BMW i3 will be a pure electric vehicle or it will come with a range-extending engine. The latter will get a two-cylinder motorcycle 0.65 liter unit, acting as an auxiliary generator for charging the battery. Prices for the BMW i3 are expected to stand at 35,000 GBP in the UK while in the United States, the model should cost 40,000 USD.
A BMW representative has confirmed to inautonews.com that the newly unveiled X4 will be making its public debut next month, during the 2014 New York Auto Show.
