The BMW i8 Coupe has been recently caught on camera while it was being tested on the famous German track, the Nurburgring.
BMW is getting ready to offer the i8 Coupe but before the model will hit the company’s dealerships, it has to be tested under extreme conditions in order to make sure that everything is working just perfectly and one of the newest testing sessions was held on the Nurburgring. The video posted below is showing the BMW i8 Coupe in action and, if you listen carefully, you can also head some exhaust and engine sound.
The BMW i8 Coupe will hit the market in two body styles, Coupe and Roadster, and the model will hit the market as a rear mid-engined hybrid. Rather than competing with expensive supercars like the Ferrari LaFerrari, the McLaren P1 or the Porsche 918 Spyder, the BMW i8 Coupe will go against the Honda / Acura NSX and the production version of the Lexus LF-LC. The model is rumored to get a three-cylinder 1.5L engine under its hood, along with an electric motor, which should produce a total output of 353 HP (260 kW) and 550 Nm of torque (406 lb-ft). The 0 to 100 km/h sprint should be done in 4.6 seconds.
