BMW has released a new promotional video with the impressive i8, which can be considered more like a teaser than a presentation footage.
Several months after it has been officially unveiled, the new BMW i8 is being placed into the spotlights, this time with the help of a video, which has been named “Sightings”. The BMW i8 is currently being assembled in Leipzig, Germany, and it’s being offered in a two-door coupe body style, with 4,700 mm in length, 1,940 mm in width and 1,300 mm in height, weighing in at 1,500 kg and riding on a 2,800 mm long wheelbase.
The model in question is taking its power from a 1.5 liter three-cylinder turbocharged engine, rated at 228 HP (170 kW) at 5,800 rpm and 320 Nm of torque (236 lb-ft), available at 3,700 rpm. This is backed up by a hybrid synchronous motor, producing 129 HP (96 kW) and 250 Nm (184 lb-ft) of torque. The total output produced by this assembly stands at 357 HP (266 kW) and 570 Nm (420 lb-ft) of torque. In Eco Pro mode, the total range of the car stands at 600 km (370 miles), thanks to the 7,2 kWh lithium-ion battery.
