BMW has released the first official teaser video with the brand new BMW i8, in its final production version, which will be unveiled next week, during the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show.
The brand new BMW i8 is one of the most awaited vehicles produced by the company these past few years and those of you waiting for it will be glad to find out that the model will be officially unveiled, in a world premiere, on the 10th of September, during the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show. In order to celebrate the event, the German based automaker has released the first official teaser video with the final production version of the i8, which can be viewed right after the jump.
The BMW i8 will be powered by a 1.5 liter three-cylinder TwinPower Turbo gasoline engine, which is producing a total output of 231 HP (170 kW) and 320 Nm of torque (236 lb-ft). These are being sent to the rear axle while the front wheels are driven by an electric motor, generating 131 HP (96 kW) and 250 Nm of torque (184 lb-ft). The total output stands at 362 HP (266 kW) and 570 Nm of torque (420 lb-ft). The 0 to 100 km/h sprint takes 4.5 seconds and top speed is electronically limited to 250 km/h (155 mph).
