BMW has released a teaser video with the i8 which will be officially introduced to the 2014 Indian Auto Expo, in early February.
Originally unveiled, in its final production form, during the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show, back in September, the BMW i8 is entering our news once again, this time with the help of its first teaser video for the 2014 Indian Auto Expo, which will officially open its gates early next month. The BMW i8 is powered by a TwinPower Turbo 1.5-liter three-cylinder gasoline burner, which is good for 231 HP (170 kW) and 320 Nm (236 lb-ft) of torque. This is backed up by an electric motor which is adding an extra 131 HP (96 kW), sent through a 2-stage automatic transmission to the front-wheel drive. The total output stands at 362 HP (266 kW) and 570 Nm (420 lb-ft) of torque, enough for a 0 to 100 km/h sprint made in 4.4 seconds. The total range of the car stands at more than 500 km (310 miles) and on electric power alone, it can be driven for 35 km (22 miles) at a top speed of 120 km/h (75 mph).
