The German based automaker BMW has recently released three new videos with the i8, where the production process of the plug-in hybrid sports car is being highlighted.
After it was officially previewed just a few days ago, ahead of its public debut scheduled for the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show, the brand new BMW i8 is being placed into the spotlights once again, this time with the help of three new videos, which were released by the carmaker. The BMW i8, in its final production version, is powered by a 1.5 liter TwinPower three-cylinder petrol engine, helped by an electric motor, producing 131 HP (96 kW) and 250 Nm of torque (184 lb-ft). The total output produced stands at 362 HP (266 kW) and 570 Nm of torque (420 lb-ft), enough for a 0 to 100 km/h sprint made in less than 4.5 seconds. Top speed of the car stands at 250 km/h (155 mph). The BMW i8 has a full electric range of 35 km (22 miles).
