The German based automaker BMW has recently released a new official video with the i8 Spyder Concept, which will be officially presented to the public at the 2012 Beijing Motor Show.
After being revealed in Germany earlier this year, the all-new BMW i8 Spyder Concept is once again placed into the spotlights, this time with the car manufacturer releasing an official video with the model hitting the road. The BMW i8 Spyder Concept will hit the production line in the future, or at least this is what rumors say, but until that, we will have to wait for the Beijing Motor Show, which will open its gates on the 27th of April, where the vehicle will be presented.
The BMW i8 Concept takes its power from a hybrid powertrain which is made out of a three-cylinder petrol engine, generating 220 horsepower and an electric motor with 129 horsepower. The car manufacturer says that the i8 Spyder Concept has an all-wheel drive system, with the petrol burner powering the rear wheels and the electric motor the front wheels. The total output developed by the hybrid powertrain is 349 HP and 550 Nm of torque. The model can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.0 seconds before hitting a top speed of 250 km/h (155 mph).
