BMW has recently released the first video with the i8 Spyder concept in which the model is being presented.
The German based automaker BMW is getting ready for a more exotic appearance in its lineup which might just be the production version of the i8 Spyder concept and what better way to suggest that the model is playing an important role for the company than by releasing an official video with it. The BMW i8 Spyder has been officially presented last month and the model is riding on a shortened wheelbase and it comes with a semi-transparent hood, laser headlings and a rakish windscreen incorporating a spoiler, along with U-shaped taillights and a rear diffuser.
The BMW i8 Spyder concept is being powered by a three-cylinder petrol engine, which is developing 220 horsepower, helped on the way by an electric motor, which is generating 129 horsepower. The plug-in hybrid powertrain is producing a combined total output of 349 horsepower and it has a peak torque of 550 Nm (406 lb-ft). The BMW i8 Spyder can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.0 seconds before reaching an electronically limited top speed of 250 km/h or 155 mph. You can watch the video with the model being presented below. Enjoy!
