BMW is releasing the launch film of the new M2 Coupe, which is mind-blowing.
Did you see the newest M car in action by now? Well, chances are you haven’t, not like this, because the launch film is finally here. The clip, which can be seen below right after the jump, is showing us the impressive two-door compact high-performance car in action, on the track, drifting around and being driven hard, along with its predecessor, the long-gone 1M Coupe. You may want to turn that volume up before clicking the play button because there is enough to listen to in the video. BMW is also making public the official Nurburgring time of the new M2 Coupe, which is said to be 7 minutes and 58 seconds.
The BMW M2 Coupe is making use of a 3.0 liter six-cylinder inline engine. This is capable of sending no less than 370 HP (272 kW) at 6,500 rpm and 465 Nm (343 lb-ft) of torque, available between 1,400 rpm and 5,560 rpm. The unit is connected to a 6-speed manual or to a 7-speed automatic transmission, allowing the model to reach 100 km/h (62 mph) from a standstill in 4.5 seconds or 4.3 seconds, respectively. Top speed stands at 250 km/h (155 mph) but it can be raised to 270 km/h (168 mph). BMW has added features such as the M Servotronic steering, the M Sport suspension system, the Active M Differential, MDM, M specific brakes and several other goodies as well.
