The official launch film for the brand new BMW M2 Coupe is here and it is revealing us the car’s official lap time on the Nurburgring.
BMW has recently pulled the wraps off the brand new just a few hours ago, and now the high-performance two-door compact car is returning to our attention once more, this time with the help of its first official launch film. The clip, which is showing us some fast driving of the car, along with its first ancestor, the M3 E30, is also revealing, besides the drifting scenes, its Nurburgring lap time, which stands at 7 minutes and 58 seconds.
The BMW M2 Coupe is bringing an updated body, an M Sport suspension system, the Active M Differential, M Servotronic steering, M specific brakes, MDM, Driving Assistant and several other goodies. Under its hood, the carmaker has added a 3.0 liter (2,979 cc) TwinPower Turbo engine, producing a total of 370 HP (272 kW) at 6,500 rpm and 465 Nm (343 lb-ft) of torque, between 1,400 rpm and 5,560 rpm. Power is being sent to the RWD through a six-speed manual or a 7-speed automatic M DCT, allowing the car to reach 100 km/h (62 mph) in 4.5s or 4.3s respectively. In both cases, top speed is electronically limited to 250 km/h (155 mph) but it can be raised to 270 km/h (168 mph) with the M Driver’s Package. No pricing details on the car have been announced so far.
