The all-new BMW M3, codenamed the F80, has been recently caught testing on the famous German track, the Nurburgring.
The new generation of the BMW M3 F80 is expected to hit the market in early 2013, as a 2014 model year, but that’s about all we know on the powerful sedan for now. Some say that the future generation will be powered by a V6 engine, by a V8 unit or even by a quad turbocharged four-cylinder unit which can drastically cut down the fuel consumption and CO2 emissions, but the most fanatic ones are actually listening to the sound of the engine where ever the new M3 is being caught testing.
Since most rumors are saying that the new generation of the BMW M3 F80 will actually come with a 3.0 liter twin-scroll turbocharged V6 engine, that’s what we will say too, because this is the unit which is closest to the new 335i. The V6 engine in the future M3 should develop a total output of 429 horsepower and 405 lb-ft of torque, and the model will also lose some weight, about 75 pounds compared to the current M3. More details on the 2014 BMW M3 F80 are expected to be announced later on this year.
