The new generation of the BMW M3, the F80, has been spied while it was being tested on the famous German track, the Nurburgring, once again.
After it started its life in late 2011, with the new generation of the BMW 3-Series F30 being revealed, the 2014 BMW M3, which has been codenamed the F80, is being placed into the spotlights once more, this time with the guys at the Bimmer Post catching it on the Nurburgring while it was being tested. Besides some interesting driving footage, the video posted below is also revealing the engine and exhaust sound of the new M3 generation.
The 2014 BMW M3 F80 will be powered by a six-cylinder engine,, with multiple turbochargers, which is expected to develop a total output of approximately 450 HP. This is possible to be just a reworked version of the N55, which is now getting a strengthened aluminum block and modified cylinder heads. A Performance Package is expected to be offered on the new BMW M3 generation, which should bring the total output over 470 HP and enable it to achieve a top speed of 300 km. More details on the 2014 BMW M3 F80 are limited for the moment, but we know that the powerful German sedan should hit the market sometimes next year.
