The new BMW M5 and the Porsche Panamera GTS have been recently tested head to head by Motor Trend and what came out can be seen in the video posted below.
The new generation of the BMW M5, the F10, and the Porsche Panamera GTS can’t be considered rivals but considering the fact that the main differences between them are the 20,000 USD in price and the 130 HP, about the price of a new C-segment hatchback, the guys at Motor Trend have decided to test them head to head.
However, the Panamera chosen should have been the Turbo S, with the 543 HP 4.8 liter turbocharged V8 and not the Panamera GTS which only gets 430 HP from the 4.8 liter V8, but we can understand this because the powerful version of the Porsche Panamera is 175,300 USD, almost twice the price of the BMW M5 F10, which stands at 89,900 USD.
The BMW M5 can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.4 seconds and it can reach a top speed of 250 km/h thanks to its 560 HP 5,000-6,000rpm and 502 lb-ft of torque while the Panamerga GTS needs 4.5 seconds to sprint the same distance and it can achieve a top speed of 288 HP. The Porsche has 430 HP.
