BMW has officially entered its next century of existence and each of the company’s brands have had the opportunity to express their vision of the upcoming high-tech 100 years.
Over the course of last year the BMW Group launched a quartet of concepts – one from each brand – to look forward towards the next century of business. The Vision Next 100 models came from BMW, Mini, Rolls-Royce, and BMW Motorrad – and they have all been banded together in a short film highlighting the firm’s future of the ultimate driving machine. BMW thinks the future holds in store a deeply connected utopia – people only drive when they want to, and each of the four Vision Next 100 concepts have their sights on slightly different aspects of tomorrow’s mobility.
The motorcycle might be the fan favorite in terms of design – an electric bike with a black V and powertrain packaging that links to the brand’s classic boxer twins. Mini’s version is talking about the car that everyone shares. It even has a fully customizable cabin to cater to the user’s preferences upon pickup. BMW’s take on the future is mostly directed towards families, with ample cabin space and autonomous mode. The Rolls-Royce Vision Next 100 meanwhile is all about futuristic luxury lounging – and even lacks the steering wheel and pedals.
