An extended video with the recently unveiled BMW X5 xDrive40e has been released by the German based automaker.
The BMW X5 xDrive40e is being highlighted once again these days, this time with the help of an extended clip which is explaining some of the features of the model. The plug-in hybrid premium full-sized SUV is expected to become quite a successful ride considering the fact that it is aimed towards “saving the world” and that most people would buy just about any car with the word “hybrid” in it. BMW will be making the public debut of the X5 xDrive40e at the 2015 Shanghai Motor Show. The model is using the 2.0 liter four-cylinder petrol turbo engine under its hood, with 245 HP (180 kW) and 350 Nm (258 lb-ft) of torque, along with the electric motor. This is generating 113 HP (83 kW) and 250 Nm (184 lb-ft) of torque. The total output stands at 313 HP (230 kW) and 450 Nm (332 lb-ft) of torque, enough for a 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) acceleration made in 6.8 seconds and an electronically limited top speed of 210 km/h (130 mph). The fully electric range stands at 31 km (19 miles) and top speed in electric mode is 120 km/h (75 mph). The X5 plug-in hybrid will be produced in Spartanburg, South Carolina.
