The first promotional clip with the brand new BMW X5 xDrive40e has been recently released by the car manufacturer and it is showing us the “green” SUV from several angles.
The newest vehicle to be joining the BMW lineup is the X5 xDrive40e, which is basically a plug-in hybrid. The model in question is being highlighted these days once again, after it has been officially unveiled earlier this week, this time with the help of its first promotional video, which is highlighting some of its features and it is showing us the model in various angles. The plug-in hybrid version of the SUV will be making its world premiere at the 2015 Shanghai Motor Show and it will be offered for sale right after the Chinese automotive event.
The vehicle is packing a 2.0 liter four-cylinder gasoline burner under its hood, with 245 HP (180 kW) and 350 Nm (258 lb-ft) of torque, which is backed up by an electric motor, with 113 HP (83 kW) and 250 Nm (184 lb-ft) of torque. The total output sent to the wheels by this assembly stands at 313 HP (230 kW) and 450 Nm (332 lb-ft) of torque, which is allowing it to reach 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 6.8 seconds and to go up to an electronically limited top speed of 210 km/h (130 mph). The X5 xDrive40e will be produced alongside the X3, the X4, the X5 and the X6 in the Spartanburg facility, in South Carolina.
