If multiple universes do exist, the LEGO one should be counted among them thanks to its sheer size and quirkiness. Now this multiverse is about to become even more interesting as fans of the Caterham Super Seven will get their own set soon.
The new set is actually coming to life due to Carl Greatrix who came up with the idea and proposed the design through the LEGO ideas program. This latter system is a great way of tipping new ideas for new LEGo sets and if the creator is being supported by at least 10,000 persons then the set will be switched to the LEGO Review phase. The Caterham Super Seven block set was put through the paces by the LEGO staff and was greenlit – meaning it’s now going to come to life as an official built-it kit. Carl describes his idea as being a kit of a kit car, and the design includes two cars with different liveries – one of them is more open as it has been let without doors and a windscreen.
The project was advanced during the second review qualification period of last year and LEGO has tipped us that it’s now working on the set’s final design. This means there are yet no details about prices or availability. You can see Carl Greatrix’s design in the attached pictures, with the final LEGO product to be revealed at a later date.
