It’s not official at this point but this test mule has been spotted recently in action, on the famous German track, the Nurburgring.
The new generation of the Audi A4 will be giving birth to the direct rival of the BMW 4-Series Coupe and the Mercedes-Benz C-Class Coupe, the A5 coupe. The model in question may still be approximately a year way from being shown, but that doesn’t mean that that the carmaker is getting all lazy on it as more and more prototypes get captured on camera while they are being tested out. The newest one has been spotted on the Nurburgring where it has been taken for a few fast laps, with its camouflaged body.
The upcoming Audi A5 Coupe will be based on the new generation of the A4, which has been introduced a few weeks back in two body styles, sedan and estate. This basically means that it will be riding on the same MLB Evo platform as it is expected to get a similar design to the four-door model, except for the lacking rear doors, for the more sloping roofline and for some changes made to its front fascia, rear end and cabin. The two-door vehicle will be approximately 100 kg lighter than its predecessor and it will get the entire engine lineup from the new A4 generation, which will also include the 2.0 liter TFSI four-cylinder, rated at 190 HP (140 kW) and 320 Nm (236 lb-ft). The model will be unveiled sometimes next year.
