The eagerly-anticipated 2018 Corvette ZR1 is coming – Chevrolet has decided to put an end to months of rumors and speculation with an Instagram teaser that also reveals November 12 as the intended debut date.
Having been completely leaked on the cover of Car & Driver’s December issue sporting a Sebring Orange Tintcoat exterior, the Corvette ZR1 is almost ready to make an official debut on November 12 – most likely in conjunction with the 2017 Dubai Motor Show. Chevrolet has been courteous enough to make us long for the day when we can drive the new high-powered machine, as their teaser includes a video that provides us with a fleeting glimpse of the menacing V8’s soundtrack.
The short clip is actually more revealing, because it not only delivers the rumble of the rumored 750 horsepower, but also allows us a quick peek at the car’s exterior. We briefly see the passing of two of the four exhaust tips, a part of the massive rear wing and part of the front end. The Corvette ZR1 is speculated to bring up an LT5 supercharged 6.2-liter V8 engine delivering a healthy 750 horsepower and 680 pound-feet (922 Newton-meters) of torque. There are even performance numbers – 0-62 mph (0-100 kph) sprint in less than three seconds, a maximum speed of 210 mph (334 kph)+, along with a quarter mile in less than 11 seconds.
