In a huge marketing effort to attract new customers into the brand, General Motors is putting its Chevrolet Sonic / Aveo through a lot “situations” like skydiving or bungee jumping, but this video is all about jumping from a plane with a parachute on its roof.
General Motors’ officials say that this campaign is targeted around kids who should “love” it and young people, who don’t have the same wishes from a car as more experienced consumers, rather than customers who just want the cheapest car they can find and which is offering a minimum comfort.
The new generation of the Chevrolet Aveo (in Europe) or Sonic (in the US) is already available for pre-order in the United Kingdom and GM has set its starting price at 9.995 GBP for the 1.2 LS while the top-of-the-line 1.3 LTZ VCDi costs 13.615 GBP. The Aveo will hit the UK showrooms starting from January 2012.
A new version of the Aveo / Sonic with the 1.4 liter turbo engine found on the Opel Astra will enter Chevrolet’s lineup in 2013 as an alternative to the SS, which won’t make it onto the new compact car.
