Chris Harris has gotten his hands on the brand new McLaren 570S, during the model’s launch event.
Our favorite automotive journalist Chris Harris has driven the new McLaren 570S recently. This is the first addition to the new Sports Series range signed by the British based brand and it was followed shortly by a version with less power, the 540C. This is taking McLaren to a whole new era and it is making the brand more accessible, but don’t expect the future to bring an even cheaper sports car with the company’s logos on its body because this won’t happen. However, we’re not here to talk about it but to let you check out Chris Harris’ review.
The McLaren 570S has been officially introduced earlier this year. The sports car has a starting price of 184,900 USD, over-seas, making it 80,000 USD cheaper than a 650S, while on its home market, UK, it costs 143,250 GBP, which is making it more expensive than the Porsche 911 Turbo S or the Audi R8 V10 Plus, but, then again, look at it! The exotic vehicle is using a 3.8 liter twin turbo V8 engine which is the same as the one used on the rest of the McLaren lineup. However, in this case, it’s rated at 570 HP (419 kW) and 600 Nm (443 lb-ft) of torque, allowing it to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 3.2 seconds and to go up to a top speed of 328 km/h (204 mph).
