Chris Harris has recently taken the brand new Mercedes-AMG GT to Laguna Seca, where the famous automotive journalist has fallen in love with it.
The Mercedes-AMG GT is one hot ride considering the fact that it has replaced the old SLS AMG, despite being smaller, less powerful and cheaper, but even so, the model is aimed towards vehicles such as the Jaguar F-Type or the Porsche 911. Now, almost three months after it has been officially unveiled and then brought to the 2014 Paris Motor Show, a few weeks later, it is being highlighted by Chris Harris, as he has taken it for a spin on the Laguna Seca raceway.
Mercedes-Benz has equipped the brand new AMG GT with a newly developed engine. We are talking about the 4.0 liter biturbo V8, which will also be used on the C63 AMG and on its larger brother the E63 AMG. The sports car is offered in two versions, the AMG GT and the AMG GT S, both of them being powered by the same unit, but in different outputs. The first one has 462 HP (339 kW) and 600 Nm (442 lb-ft) of torque while the latter is getting 510 HP (375 kW) and 650 Nm (479 lb-ft).
