The British automotive journalist Chris Harris has taken the new Renault Twizy out for a spin and his impressions can be seen in the video posted below this article.
The all-new Renault Twizy has been already launched in several markets, like France, where the EV has a starting price of 6, 990 euros, or the Netherlands, where the model can be bought for 6,995 euros. Renault says that for the money, future owners of the Renault Twizy will get the Twizy 45, which is coming with 5 horsepower and 33 Nm of torque. The model’s name, the “45”, stands for the vehicle’s top speed of 45 km/h, being also available for 16-year olds to drive, but only if they get the road safety certification first.
Besides the Twizy 45, Renault is also offering a version which is coming with 17 horsepower and can accelerate up to 80 km/h. For this variant, its future owners will need an A or B driver’s license. The Renault Twizy is coming with a 7 kW lithium-ion battery and a single gear transmission. The model is 2.32 meters long, 1.19 meters wide and 1.46 meters tall, with a curb weight of just 450 kg. The Twizy is being assembled in Valladolid, Spain.
