The French based automaker Citroen has recently released a commercial video where its DS5 model is being promoted in an unusual way, using the music made by Marilyn Manson.
As you can see in the video below, the car manufacturer is using a new strategy to promote the 2012 DS5 range and it’s putting an accent on classic looks combined with an “explosive” drive feeling, which is probably what Citroen was looking for when the company had ordered this commercial video. The newest model in Citroen’s lineup seems to have an attitude which will probably make a difference to its future buyers.
As a reminder, the Citroen DS5 is a compact executive vehicle, being also the third model in the new premium sub-brand DS. The Citroen DS5 has been officially presented to the public at the 2011 Shanghai Auto Show, back in April and it manages to mix a hatchback and an estate styling resembling a shooting-brake. Styling on the new DS5 has been influenced the C-Sportlounge concept car shown at the 2005 Frankfurt Motor Show.
The 2012 Citroen DS5 is 4.530 mm long and 1.871 mm wide, being similar in dimensions to the Peugeot 3008, being also based on the same platform as its “brother”. Future owners of the DS5 will have to choose between several petrol and diesel engines, but the most expected version will definitely by the hybrid, which is made out of a 2.0 liter HDi engine developing 163 HP and a 37 HP (28 kW) electric motor mounted on the rear axle and sending power to all four wheels as it is needed.
