People that have been blessed with universal mantra and will attend the Silverstone Classic at the end of July will be getting their world peace vibe in motion with all sorts of visual and audible goodies.
Until that happens, the organizers of the event have decided to provide just a taste of what’s to come in the form of a contest that invites petrolheads all around the world to vote for their favorite classic motoring soundtrack. The idea is named the Silverstone Classic Sound Off, and while it’s safe for work it’s not safe for your heart because it’s really not going to be that easy to make the choice. The event pits five engines that go through the entire spectrum of racing – from a two-stroke V4 coming from a Yamaha ZR500 GP bike, through the four-cylinder from a classic Mini Cooper S, an inline-six from a vintage Cooper Bristol single-seat racer, the great V8 of a Lola T70 Spyder, and an unleashed V12 coming from a Group C Jaguar XJR12.
Famed currently unemployed TV host and tame racing driver Tiff Needell does the commentary and also brings some info on each of the contestants. And as far as marketing promotion ideas, this has to be at the very top of any auto industry-related company… seriously, it made us jump up and try to set up a flight to Silverstone. By the way, they were serious about you voting – just hit Silverstone’s Facebook page and present your favorite.
