It’s incredibly rare to see one of these homologation specials – since this is a model specifically developed by an automaker to please a core fan (which also has a very big bank account) – but it’s truly special to see six of them drive together.
Homologation specials were born because automakers are tasked to create street versions of the models it intends to race – and while some of them get the legal version first, others get the racing one and only then the former. So, some of the luckiest customers on the planet (and wealthiest, we have to stress that out again) get to bring to their garage something that was built with performance above else in mind. And one man even has six of these rare models: BMW M1, Lancia 037, Lancia Delta S4, Lancia Stratos, Mercedes-Benz 190E Evo II, and a Porsche 924 GTS. And at least he’s capable of sharing them to the world, thanks to this footage that caught them while being driven to the 2016 Greenwich Concours D’Elegance.
The M1 is actually the camera car, so we’re not going to be treated to that much metal of the wedge-shaped supercar, but it return we get a rare glimpse of the inline six symphony. The triumvirate of Lancias can make any rallying fan weep, while the 190E Evo II is the final and ultimate iteration of the famous touring, and the 924 GTS is only one of the 15 units delivered with a full racing interior.
